We are recruiting for a Health Determinants Research Development - Community Involvement Lead

Would you like to join us to help harness the power of connected, thriving and resilient communities?

This is a new role within a partnership project building on the strengths of cross-sector and community collaboration.

Durham Community Action is working in partnership with Durham University and Durham County Council to create a Health Determinants Research Development (HDRD) project with the vision to:

“Together harness the power of research and innovation to tackle the causes of unfair differences in health outcomes across County Durham.”

The ultimate goal of this project is to place inclusive research, evaluation and innovation practice at the heart of the design and delivery of public services. One key aim of this project is to use research to inform decision-making and have a positive impact on health and well-being.

We are looking for somebody who is enthusiastic and knowledgeable about illustrating the impact of the Voluntary and Community Sector on health inequalities; to assure that communities are fully and equitably engaged in public health policy research activity.

You’ll be an experienced practitioner who understands the complexities of partnership working and the spectrum of community involvement activities. You must be confident and experienced enough to work with people from a broad range of disciplines and settings, especially related to wellbeing and health, to understand their interests.

This role involves both team and independent working and needs someone with great organisation skills.  If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.

Salary: £34,398 full-time, fixed term (3 years)
